What is Emotional Consulting?
Emotional Consulting is a psychological technique which uses video as a mirror tool. It’s designed to give a person a deeper understanding of conscious and unconscious thoughts through watching their own body language and changes in emotions in the second person.
I started developing Emotional Consulting in 2012 while still in film school. I was going through a depression at the time and I began experimenting with self-filming as a psychological tool, filming myself talking about things that were bothering me and watching it right after. Through this process I started to see things from a new perspective giving me new insights and compassion for myself. Inspired by these positive effects I started using this technique with friends. I started doing this process with friends, then friends of friends and in 2013 I opened my Emotional Consulting practice.
Today I integrate Emotional Consulting into my Narrative Therapy sessions and also teach it as a stand alone technique which helps people improve their inner communication and see themselves in a more compassionate light.
