Who is responsible
Jesse Elan. Postal address: see the Impressum. Email: hello@jesseelan.com
Hosting and delivery
This website runs on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA). When you open a page, your browser sends technical data, such as your IP address, the date and time, the page you asked for and your browser type. Cloudflare uses this data to deliver the website and to protect it from attacks. The photos and the video on this site are stored with Cloudflare too, and the fonts are stored on this website itself, so no data goes to Google Fonts.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in a secure, working website. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and its standard data processing terms apply.
The booking form
When you enter your name and email and press "Schedule a free call", both are saved, together with the time, in a database at Cloudflare that is kept inside the EU. Jesse also gets an email with your name and email address, sent through Cloudflare to his mailbox at Google (Google Workspace). This lets Jesse reply to you, also if you do not finish booking a time.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, steps you ask for before a possible coaching agreement. Your name and email are kept so Jesse can stay in touch with you about coaching, and deleted whenever you ask.
Booking with Calendly
After you press "Schedule a free call", a booking calendar from Calendly (Calendly LLC, USA) opens inside the page. Only then does your browser connect to Calendly. Calendly receives your name and email, which the form fills in for you, the time you choose and technical data such as your IP address. Calendly may set its own cookies and shows its own notice about them.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, booking the call you asked for. Calendly is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Calendly's own privacy notice: calendly.com/privacy.
Counting visits with Plausible
To see how many people visit this website, we use Plausible Analytics (Plausible Insights OÜ, Estonia, EU). Plausible sets no cookies and stores no personal data. Your IP address is only used, in a scrambled form that cannot be traced back to you, to tell visits apart on the same day, and it is not stored. We see totals only: how many visits, which pages, which websites visitors came from, country, type of device, and how many people pressed the call button or sent the booking form.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in knowing how the website is used. Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, no consent is needed under § 25 TDDDG.
If you email Jesse, your message and your email address are used to answer you. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR.
Your rights
You can ask at any time, free of charge:
- what data about you is stored (Art. 15 GDPR),
- to correct it (Art. 16) or delete it (Art. 17),
- to limit its use (Art. 18),
- to receive it in a common format (Art. 20),
- and you can object to uses based on our legitimate interest (Art. 21).
Just email hello@jesseelan.com. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (datenschutz-berlin.de).
